Part 2
Here's part two, when we hiked down to the waterfall... let's just say that wasn't such a fun "trail." And I use the term "trail" very loosely. Haha, well all the rain that day didn't help any so the way down was massively crappy, but at least the falls at the end were decent.
Keane and Spencer braved the waters and jumped in (one with a little more modesty than the other, you guess which one).
Aside from a few ants, this was surprisingly the only wildlife I saw on the trail, not even any birds. Well, it was pouring rain at the top of the ridge and my eyes were pretty fixed on the trail the whole way, but still.
Unfortunately, I don't have any picks of the deceptively long 0.75 mile hike down and back up from the waterfall, but trust me, all you would see is mud splattered on my camera and probably like the angry spirits of the forest throwing rocks in our faces and cursing our souls or something. But at least from this picture (taken at the top of the trail again, thankfully, on our way back home), you can tell how exhausting the trek was. Still, a chance to bond with nature, a day out in the elements, and most importantly, another slick, muddy, bug-infested, hike survived was pretty awesome.
