I'm Starting a List!
I've been working for the DOE for 7 months now. Believe it or not, some of these kids have influenced me greatly. Meaning, they have been the biggest pain in the okole, just the sound of their name makes me cringe. I've decided to create a list of names I would NOT name my kid. I know I'm no where near naming a kid but I'm sure the list will grow in the future. Because of confidentiality, I didn't want to post this on my myspace blog.
-Brenden
-Cherie
-Aloha
-Alix-NEVER, EVER!!!!
-Eriannah-the name Alix calls herself sometimes
-Travis
-Sherry

On a brighter note, can you believe it's been a year since my string of bad boyfriend choices has ended (excluding jeremy & keane of course)? We're celebrating a full year together on Saturday 2/25. Neil has definitely been a blessing in my life & is teaching me how to love & trust not just him but myself too. Okay, okay, enough mush.

yay nicole and neil! cute picture too :)
about the names--i went on the kapiolani baby website one day, and YIKES. so i'd like to add to your list:contribute some baby names of babies born this month:
Nastassja (silent consonants = bad idea)
Tatum (ugh. reminds me of a word i don't like)
Naton (maybe this is a good idea.. very pidgin friendly)
Ioane (how do you say this?)
Nicallace (spelling = yikes)
Jelani (sounds like jello+nalani)
Millicent (sounds like malleficent, from sleeping beauty)
Nano (ipod?)
Precious (nicole, wasn't one of the dogs named this in our petstore picture collection?)
Kruzzlyn (sounds kruzsty)
Sailine (for contacts)
Atreyu (say my name!)
i'd say over 2/3 of the babies born this month at kapiolani hospital, which i'd say is a fair sampling of all babies born in hawaii this month, have either weird names or normal names with weird spellings. and i think it's okay to make up names IF it sounds good. like this girl i used to babysit, she named herself "celerina", which has a nice ring to it i think.. but don't go making up names like Jelani! yikes.
