dream log #2

I get a lot of day residue in my dreams, when we were taking psych with takeshita we went through all those dream theories, like how dreams are the brain trying to work out problems of your conscious life, or how their your brain actively storing info into your long-term memory, or how it's just leftover neural stimulation from whatever you did that day. Most of mine are the latter, although this morning's dream was definately influenced by the fact that I woke up, turned the tv on to wimbledon and then fell asleep again.

So here's how it went, it was short, but very detailed. I was at some beach resort hotel with my family because they came to watch me at a tennis tournament (which only happened once in real life, and I lost that one bad). Anyway the courts were right next to the beach (like I could've gone for a lob and ended up in the water) and I was just watching too because it was a big tournament and I was crappy so of course I was just an alternate on the team. So then I was watching Andy Roddick play Roger Federer (who was laying the smack down on Tim Henman this morning) and Roger was winning easy. So they played two sets (Roger won both) and then suddenly Patrick McEnroe was there (the team captain for Team USA) and tells me to go in and play doubles with Andy. So I'm like, "whaa?" but I go anyway and nobody says a word to me but they just take their positions so I go and stand where I'm supposed to and start playing doubles. Except it's only Roger on the other side against me and Andy and he still whips us around. I remember being surprised that one the first point I actually returned a ball, that's about it though. And I remember another time Andy served to Roger (who was standing in the service box) and he hit a dropper right at my feet and I ran up and flew it way long and it was weird because at that point I remember thinking (in my dream), "geez, it's MY dream and still I can't keep a ball in the court!"

Anyway, that game was over quickly but after I shook hands and everything, I remember seeing the other guys on my team and they all had Lego shirts (shirts that actually made them look like the Lego people) and I was real jealous because I didn't feel like I was part of the team. And then I wanted to ask them how they got the shirts, but they ignored me and I was sad because I wasn't part of the team. Then all the people went up a couple of elevators (into the dream hotel, which is the same hotel that I see in my dreams whenever I dream about hotels, so at least I know where I'm going) and I was going too, but I was in a wheelchair so someone came to push me. Then I started looking into my backpack and I found a bento wrapped in foil (which I thought must be spoiled already because I left in out in the car in the sun, even though there were no cars, when I started playing), two coconut sherbets in paper cups (which were still solid, but kinda chunky and melting), and a bunch of other crap that made a big mess, and I was embarrassed to clean everything out right there because it was so messy.

Weird dream. Ok Nicole, bust out your dream book and tell me what that means!
