Cincinnati

This is the backside of Neil's childhood home. That's his mom coming out the door. We were putting up a flag in the backyard. If you think it looks beautiful from the outside, you should see the inside. Super nice stuff. Even the towels were luxurious! This is us at the Bengal vs. Steelers game. Neil is wearing a Bills jacket out of necessity not cause he's a fan. I was wearing long johns, a t-shirt, a puffy jacket & then a heavy coat. At one point, it was sunny and beautiful, even hot ( I got down to just my t-shirt) but suddenly it got nippley & then I piled everthing back on again. Neil is not wearing as many layers as I was but the forecast predicted (correctly) rain (hence his rain jacket).
So I picked the wrong picture to show. This was when we first got to the stadium which has not completely filled up. But, you can see how ginormous it is compared to our Aloha Stadium. Even though there are thousands more people, traffic was not as bad as I thought it'd be (like how it gets here). Parking was plentiful too (although our car paid $25 bucks). The game was awesome--mostly cause it was my first NFL game & the energy is like nothing else. Even though it was a disappointing ending, all had a good time. I realized I didn't take too many Cincinnati pictures but I'll just add that we spent a (very short) afternoon on a gambling boat in Indiana. It was kinda neat cause we picked up Neil's grandma who lives in Kentucky so we were actually in 3 states in one day. I wished I took a picture but like I mentioned before, it was a very short trip there--which was a shame since we traveled all that way. I had to include a picture of the bunny. Here he is sporting his holiday gear looking very pissed off at me. I had been trying to get him to "wear" it for so long that I think he finally gave up & settled for giving me this dirty look.

Now that we're back into a regular schedule, our trips seem like a world away. With the responsibilites of the "daily grind" I can only wish to go back to the days where we had no set schedule and doing nothing was not a bad idea. I'm sure that one day I'm going to love being retired.

ahh, further trip inspiration! doesn't everyone want to take a trip now?! spring break coming up! his house does look very nice, and even the lawn is like perfect, trimmed hedges and everything. very cool. the game looks pretty sweet too, that's a huge stadium. it's cool that you got to take a less touristy trip with Neil along, maybe we can add something like that onto my list of "gotta go" vacations.
