coming home
hey guys... well, some of you know that i will be coming home for kiyomi's wedding on august 3rd. the new news is that i won't be going back to japan after that... i'll be home for good =) so yes, change of plans, i'm not re-contracting. what?!! yeah, i'm a little surprised too. i just told my school today. so i'm so sorry-- all of you who were going to come visit-- kat, nicole, matt.. sorry! it was so cool you guys were really gonna come see me out here but i'll be in hawaii with you instead. but who's to say we all still can't take a japan trip right? :)
don't worry, nothing's bad at school or anything. in fact, i think i may have the best school of any JET person i know. and it's not about the life here, which is actually pretty good considering i'm getting paid to do hardly anything and can go gallavanting around japan and all. it's just that i had to decide so early.. back in february was it? and now that the time is coming near, i think i'd be happier going back home than if i stay another year. i miss you guys a lot and plus i want to start doing whatever it is i'm going to be doing for the rest of my life (i have yet to figure out but... yeah) so ... i think it's time.
anyway, that's my news. was stewing over it for the past week stressing myself out about it. i probably have like 15 more white hairs now. hope i made the right decision. see you all in August! love, kristen

oooh you coming home??? I'm sure it's the right decision...not cause I'm so happy you're coming home but because it's a decision you made from your heart.
I'm sure you already know but we've missed you so so so much & although we won't have a "native" showing us around Japan, we'll still have an experienced tour guide once we get our butts on a trip.

Yay Kristen! Ok, that's the selfish me talking, but I'm so glad to hear that you're coming home! Eh, Japan, who needs those crazy japanesies, you've already spent a whole year there, that's tons plenty (believe me, I know how long two years can be, just look at my last two years of "life" spent in grad school). It looks like you've had a great time in Japan, and sometimes it's best to just leave it at that yeah? Plus you know what you really want to do (or where you really want to be), so why would you want to try and second guess yourself? Live in the NOW man! (that's from Wayne's World, okay, so I might be going a little cuckoo from not being in school anymore, but tough).
So yay!
